ON AIR ID keeps the listener in live contact with the studio
A listener creates an account and talks to the program that is on air. Through chat, or with a voice message when typing does not work. In the app and on your station website.

An account for the listener
ON AIR ID is the listener account. Sign-in uses email and a code. No password left lying around, and a recognisable name in the studio.
Live chat with the studio
Messages go to the station. The contact in the app is the program that is on air at that moment, not a general mailbox that is read the next day.
Voice message
Listeners record a voice memo and send it to the studio. Useful in the car, for a shout-out, or when a message is too long to type.
Inbox for presenters
Conversations arrive in ON AIR TOOL. A presenter replies under their own name. The team can hide messages, delete them or block a listener.
App and website
The same ON AIR ID works in the mobile app and on the station website. One account, the same chat, whether the listener is on the phone or on the site.
Not the studio panel
ON AIR ID is for listeners. Staff sign in to the station in ON AIR TOOL. Those two accounts stay separate.
How a listener creates an ON AIR ID
The listener enters an email address on the website or in the app. ON AIR ID sends a login code. That confirms the account and lets them chat. No separate password, and an account that belongs to a person.
For the studio that is the difference with an anonymous request form. You see who is writing, you can continue the conversation and you recognise returning listeners. Anyone who wants to delete the account does so with a code from the email. After that, the ON AIR ID no longer exists.
The account is meant for radio station apps and websites. It does not open the schedule, the team inbox or the station settings.
Chat with the program that is on air
A chat message lands at the station. In the app, the contact is the program that is on air at that moment. The listener talks to the show, not to a loose contact form that ends up in a mailbox.
Stations choose how chat works. One uses a conversation per listener. Another also opens a group room. If chat is off, the channel is closed. You decide that per station.
Presenters link their ON AIR TOOL account so replies appear under their name. The listener sees who is responding. The team sees the whole conversation, including the email address and the latest message, and replies from the same inbox.
- Direct chat with the station
- Optional group chat
- Replies under the presenter's name
- Messages are removed automatically after 30 days
A voice message when typing does not fit
Not every listener is typing with two thumbs at the wheel or at the kitchen table. In the chat someone can record a voice message and send it along. The studio plays the voice memo in the conversation, next to ordinary messages.
That fits radio. A shout-out, a congratulations or a question for the DJ is often faster spoken than typed. The microphone is only used when the listener chooses to record.
Voice messages follow the same moderation as text. Bursts that come in too fast are slowed down. A presenter can hide or delete a message, or block a listener when a conversation no longer belongs.
The studio stays in control
ON AIR ID is built for live contact, not for a wall without moderation. The team sees an inbox of conversations, replies when the show has a moment and clears what does not belong on air or in the app.
Listeners can report a message. Staff hide or delete messages and lift a block again when that is right. The chat stays usable during the broadcast, including when it gets busy.
The channel sits beside requests, not through them. Asking for a song stays in the request inbox. A conversation with the studio runs through ON AIR ID. Both come from the same station data, and you handle both in ON AIR TOOL.
